LOCATION OF QEII TRACK CLUB TRAINING

The QEII Track Club is located in the 'Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre' (QSAC). This centre has been called a variety of names including the 'QEII Jubilee Sporting Centre' and 'ANZ Stadium'.

QEII Track Club Athletes train on the 'Warm Up' track which is known as the 'State Athletic Centre' (SAC) which is to the left of the main stadium. In the map below it is shown as a blue/green oval to the left of the centre. Note the map shows an entry from Mains road but that has been closed off.

The entrance to the centre is from Kessels Road.
As you enter the centre from Kessels Road you have to turn left into a one way ring road. This will bring you around to plenty of car parks for the warm up track. The car parks are the grey area on the map which has the word 'Queen' written over it.

If you are new to the club then the best place to meet your coach will be at the attendant’s booth at the entrance way to the training track. The Government charges each athlete $3.50 per training session and there is a person in the small cream booth/building to your right as you enter the track (It is behind the large white sign in the picture below).

The other place you may be asked to meet is the equipment shed. If you look at the second picture below you will see an access road to the right within the confines of the track itself. If you walk up it towards the end of the grounds you will see a large white container and next to it a series of roller doors in a large green shed near to a light tower. The fourth roller door along (Marked Disabled) is an equipment shed shared by the QEII Track Club. You will often find coaches and athletes there.
